The results are in. DFC Members have elected the following three candidates to the Board of Trustees (from L-R):
Aleksandra Bilić (Producer/Director, My Accomplice)
Jerry Rothwell (Filmmaker)
Sandhiya Sophie Argent (Co-founder and Media Lawyer, Creators Counsel)
Thanks to everyone who joined or upgraded their membership to participate in the election. The DFC’s total membership now consists of 931 people, of whom 367 are full voting Members. The candidates were elected on a 38.0% turnout, and will formally take up their positions at the DFC AGM at Sheffield DocFest on Saturday June 13. Please come along and help give them a big in-person welcome.
With fifteen outstanding candidates standing for only three seats, it was inevitable that the majority of candidates would be unsuccessful. On behalf of the entire membership, we want to take this opportunity to say an enormous public thank you to everyone who put themselves forward. It takes courage to step up and every single one of you has ensured that yet again the DFC has had a highly contested election.
