Claire Ferguson

Claire Ferguson is a documentary filmmaker with a career spanning over 25 years, working on dozens of feature documentaries as editor, director and/or producer.

Recent credits include Birds of War (winner SUNDANCE 2026 Special Jury award), BAFTA-nominated The Enfield Poltergeist (Apple TV+) and Is There Anybody Out There? (BAFTA-nominated, SUNDANCE 2023).

Claire’s directorial work includes The Beatles in Help! and The Concert for Bangladesh Revisited, both for Apple Corps. Her 2016 feature documentary Destination Unknown premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest, was named by The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw as one of his documentaries of the year and was nominated for a GRIERSON award.

Claire has taught documentary at the National Film & Television School for over a decade, as well as delivering masterclasses for University College London, Met Film School, Channel 4, Bertha DocHouse and others. Between 2021 and 2024 She created and ran the Netflix-sponsored Grierson DocLab editing course.
