Jonathan is an experienced writer for documentaries. He wrote the critically-acclaimed Destination Unknown, a “wrenching nonfiction work about the pain of memory” (Variety). The film was nominated for a Grierson award 2017 (Best Historical Documentary) and following its 5-star review in The Guardian, was one of its top 10 documentaries of the year.

Recent credited work includes Story Consultant on the multi-award winning Birds of War (2026).

He specialises in documentary storytelling, crafting real stories into compelling films.

Much of his past work was uncredited story consulting for documentaries, including story development, interview planning and voiceover writing. He has worked on documentary projects for major broadcasters such as BBC, Netflix and Apple+. He also develops and writes for corporate clients.
