Julia Parks is an artist and filmmaker from Cumbria specialising in experimental documentary that explores overlooked landscapes and ecological themes. Her practice focuses on “unloved” places—post-industrial sites, abandoned military infrastructure and marginal environments—examining their ecological value through field recording, archival research, and long-term observation.

Her work has screened at IFFR, Open City, AFO, Alchemy & Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg. She is currently developing her first feature documentary, Beyond Utropia, while studying Documentary Film Directing with Doc Nomads (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master) in Hungary, Portugal, and Belgium. She holds a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, London.
