Usayd Younis
Usayd is a multi award-winning BFI-supported director/producer whose debut film ‘Generation Revolution’ premiered at Sheffield DocFest and was released on Netflix. His latest documentary After Eight won the Whicker Award for Best Short Documentary and the Audience Award at the British Shorts Festival.
His work has been featured in The Guardian, Teen Vogue, and i-D Magazine. He has presented his films worldwide, notably at Brooklyn Academy of Music, UC Berkeley, Dartmouth, University College London, Tate Modern, Georgetown, UCLA, USC, Museu de Arte do Rio, and Centro Cultural Buenos Aires.
Usayd’s passion lies in stories centred on Global Majority people. As the founder and director of the London-based production company black & brown films, he continues to champion under-represented voices, utilizing film as a tool for advocacy and empowerment.
