Wayne Bennett is a director, writer, producer and researcher specialising in music history and the business of recorded music. He is the founder of Traxploitation, an independent documentary platform exploring the people, stories and often hidden mechanics behind popular music. Drawing on more than 30 years’ experience in the music industry as a recording artist, producer, engineer and rights professional, his work combines archival research, industry knowledge and investigative storytelling. His long-form documentaries examine subjects including authorship, copyright, exploitation, authenticity and the relationship between music, commerce and culture. He is currently developing Traxploitation’s work into independent feature documentary projects for theatrical and festival audiences.
