(he/him)
Curator

Bruno has been a film curator and programmer since 2010. He was the driving force behind curating and programming at Alvalade Cineclube, a film society he founded in Lisbon (Portugal). He has specialised in documentary cinema at KINO-DOC and serves as a trainer for the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE), a jury member at the Berlin and Sarajevo Film Festivals, and a mentor at SOFA (School of Film Advancement).  Recently curated and presented a restoration of “Belarmino” (Fernando Lopes, 1964) at Cinema Rediscovered 2025, one of the most important documentaries in portuguese  cinema history.

He divides his time between Liverpool (UK), where he founded Imagine Futures CiC, and Lisbon. He curates the new film programme at Shakespeare North Playhouse, screens new portuguese-spoken cinema in the UK and runs the Cinedojo, a project for young programmers in both countries. He’s founding the Liverpool Doc Club as you read this.
