Dan Crane

Dan Crane is an Emmy-nominated documentary writer, producer and director who has worked with Kennedy/Marshall Documentaries, Tremolo Productions, Altimeter Films, Wavelength Productions, Participant, Grain Media, Radical Media, Uninterrupted/Spring Hill, and others. His films have premiered and screened at TriBeCa, DOCNYC, SxSW and numerous other festivals.

His directorial debut, Let Me Be Me (Wavelength Productions) premiered in November 2021 at DOC NYC and is distributed by Greenwich Entertainment. It was nominated for an Outstanding Arts and Culture Documentary Emmy in 2023.

Crane often acts as a story consultant/writer on films that aren’t connecting, and works with the existing team to help to reshape the story.

Owned and run by and for its members, the DFC is the first national organisation for the UK’s documentary film industry.
