I am a director mostly working on film’s relation to violence and the landscape’s ability to mobilise complex histories. My most recent films, ‘The Soil and The Sea’ (2023) and ‘About a War’ (co-directed with Abi Weaver, 2019) deal with the legacy of Lebanon’s Civil War. In 2024, I co-produced ‘Journey’, on women’s experience of gender based violence in Sri Lanka.
I regularly publish on documentary film, film-philosophy and environmental filmmaking. My latest book (co-written with Nikolaj Lubecker) is called ‘Images of Unrest’ (2025).
