Ed Gibbs is an award-winning producer and writer based in London. Together with Rubika Shah he runs Smoking Bear, an indie committed to telling bold, compelling stories from around the world. Ed is best-known for WHITE RIOT, which won multiple awards including the Grierson Best Documentary Prize at the BFI London Film Festival, prior to its international release in 2020/21. His films have premiered at festivals worldwide including Sundance, Berlin and Hot Docs. Prior to producing, Ed was the Sunday film critic for The Sydney Morning Herald.
