Dr Elspeth Vischer is a filmmaker, researcher and educator based in Belfast and director of Vish Films Ltd. Elspeth completed a practice-based PhD at Queen’s University in 2023. As part of this Elspeth directed and produced a feature documentary entitled: ‘Let Us Be Seen’ about grassroots feminist activism in Belfast. Elspeth’s work is concerned with centering counter-hegemonic themes within experimental traditions. Elspeth is currently working on a project funded by Northern Ireland Screen using oral histories of retired nurses. Elspeth has recently collaborated with BBC Making the Future and had work shown at Docs Ireland 2022,2023 and Gaze Queer Film Festival in Dublin 2023 as well as Reykjavik Feminist Film Festival, Silver Wave, Women Over Fifty Film Festival, Tiree Sea Change,  WANDA: Feminism and Moving Image and Rathmullan Film Festival.
