Emily Copley
Emily Copley is an independent Producer living in rural Somerset. She is also joint Acting CEO of the Documentary Film Council (DFC), the UK’s first national body for independent documentary and Senior Producer of Talks and Sessions at Sheffield DocFest.
Emily regularly works as a consultant for funds and festivals such as Doc Society, International Documentary Association (IDA), Sheffield DocFest and The Griersons, and has consulted on a number of feature documentaries including The Hermit of Treig (2022), Red Herring (2023), Children of the Mist (2021), No Simple Way Home (2022) and Light Falls Vertical (2022).
Emily was previously Producer at The Whickers, an international fund for emerging directors, has a background in exhibition and distribution and was part of the small team that opened the UK’s first documentary dedicated cinema, Bertha DocHouse.
