Freya Wilkinson

Freya Wilkinson is a documentary filmmaker with a background in production accounting and management. After studying documentaries at The Met Film School, she directed But You Don’t Look Autistic?, which received festival recognition, including an Honorable Mention and a Best Documentary nomination. More recently, she studied Factual & Production Development at the NFTS.

Currently working as a Development Researcher, Freya helps a new production company build its project slate through idea generation, market research, and pitch materials. Alongside this, she is collaborating with a producer to secure funding for an upcoming short documentary, which she will be directing.

Selected for the Getting Real 24 BFI Doc Society & FWD-Doc Virtual Delegation, Freya continues to expand her industry knowledge and connections. With experience in production management and a passion for creative storytelling, she is committed to developing impactful documentaries that amplify underrepresented voices and spark meaningful conversations.
