Hannah Currie is an award-winning documentary director from Glasgow with a reputation for heartfelt documentaries about contemporary human stories. Her films include BAFTA-Scotland winning and Grierson nominated short That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore about a couple dealing with life after brain injury; BBC Scotland film Lumo: Too Young To Die documenting the Glasgow hip hop community in the aftermath of a young rappers death; BBC iPlayer series Not Your Average Family about a young LGBTQ couple challenging stereotypes as they try to start a family, and Working Differently for Screen Scotland exploring neurodivergence in the film and television industry. She has also made shorts for Football Focus tackling subjects such as sexual assault and racism in football, and is currently developing her first feature.
