(he/him)
Cinematographer, Director, Director of Photography, Producer, Self-shooting P/D
Hello, I started my career in the nascent Mongolian TV industry where I directed the nation’s first talent show and worked on the BBC’s Genghis Khan documentary. My love of the country led me to produce several Mongolian films, which screened at major festivals such as Busan, Locarno, London Short Film Festival and many others.
I’ve directed two feature documentaries for The Sunday Times and The Sun; which sold in numerous territories. During those productions I shot in the Taliban’s heartland, Zabul and with (then) HRH The Prince of Wales.
I’m a BAFTA Connect member, am on the BBC Preferred Supplier List and hold a BECTU Press Card.
I’m also Hostile Environment First Aid Trained (HEFAT).
I founded the production company Really Nice Films Ltd, which creates short form content for agencies, brands and publishers.
I hope to work with you soon, Ian.
