Lennaart van Oldenborgh

(he/him)
Academic, Director, Editor

I am a BAFTA-winning documentary film editor with a broad range of professional experience over 20 years, mostly on long-form documentary for broadcast (arts, science, history, observational), and also several feature documentaries and multi-channel art installations.

In 2018, the feature-length documentary ‘Basquiat, Rage to Riches’, which I edited with director David Shulman for BBC Studios and PBS Masterpiece, won the Specialist Factual BAFTA TV award, and since then I have worked on several high-profile arts and music documentaries.

I’ve directed several independent short documentaries and video installations, and co-directed ‘Bitter Lemons’, a feature documentary about the frozen conflict in Cyprus, with Adnan Hadzi.  It premiered at the Solothurn International Film Festival in Switzerland in 2014.

I’m also a part-time academic, and am teaching a module on The Politics of the Archival Image in the Media Studies unit at the Royal College of Art.
