(Self-describe)
Director

Neil George is an accomplished film producer and director recognised for his impactful work in documentary filmmaking. Born in Exeter, England, he began his career producing and directing over 100 TV programmes for Sky in the 2000s. In 2011, he moved to South Korea to teach film production, where his focus shifted toward human rights filmmaking.

His work includes While They Watched (2015), exploring the plight of North Korean defectors, and Beyond the Picture (2015), reflecting on Korean society. A defining moment came with After the Sewol (2016), a five-year project documenting the Sewol ferry tragedy, followed by Crossroads. In 2018, Neil collaborated with UNHCR on Our Journey, chronicling Yemeni refugees, and later directed Writing to Reach You about refugee lives in South Korea.

In 2022, he was commissioned by UNHCR to direct Dodomu, on Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Now based in Dubai, Neil continues teaching and producing films amplifying marginalised voices.
