Penny Woolcock is an award winning writer/director working across fiction, documentary and opera. 1 Day, her feature film about a day in the life of a gangster, led to One Mile Away, a documentary following a peace process between two inner-city gangs and the recent feature film Trapping. Other documentaries include On the Streets,The Wet House, from The Sea to the Land Beyond and Going to the Dogs. Fiction films include Tina goes Shopping, The Principles of Lust, Mischief Night and Exodus. She directed John Adam’s The Death of Klinghoffer on film and Doctor Atomic and The Pearl Fishers for the stage. She is currently working on a hybrid documentary about a London boy accused of witchcraft.
