A former Cameraman, Emmy winning Producer and a Channel Director, Richard has launched or run 15 channels including Sky Arts (as Artsworld), the History Channel in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Most recently he helped launch 67pallmall.tv, an online channel about wine.

As producer, his work includes five series of the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures for BBC2 and the 24 part ‘Cold War’ a BAFTA nominated, Peabody award-winning history series.

He was the EP on ‘Night Will Fall’ for the BFI, HBO and Channel 4 which won the Emmy for Outstanding Historical Documentary, the RTS Award and the Peabody Medal. He was nominated for another Emmy for ‘Into the Inferno’ directed by Werner Herzog for Netflix. He continued on with Werner to EP “Meeting Gorbachev” and ‘‘Fireball” and was the EP on the RTS, Broadcast and Grierson award winning, BAFTA nominated series of ‘Prison’ for C4.
