Tina Gharavi is a BAFTA-nominated filmmaker and assistant professor. Gharavi has made films on subjects as diverse as Muhammad Ali, teenage sexuality, Yemeni-British sailors, The Lackawanna 6, death row exonerees, refugees and lighthouses. Her recent work, African Queens: Cleopatra was released on Netflix in 2023 and she is working on her third feature film, Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day in early 2024 as well as a bio-pic about Iranian poetess, Forough Farrokhzad.
